Qualification Overview

This qualification is designed to offer a career pathway for learners seeking to develop a broad foundation of knowledge and skills, preparing them for diverse roles within the IT industry—particularly in .NET programming, system administration, and network security. Additionally, learners will gain insight into entrepreneurship within a technology-driven environment.

The qualification is flexible, allowing learners to choose from elective modules in networking, web design, or e-commerce—the latter being highly sought-after in today’s business landscape.

Upon successful completion, learners will acquire technical skills and knowledge that are internationally recognised and in demand. The diploma is accredited at Level 5 and carries a total equivalence of 120 credits.

Units

Learners must complete all four core units and any two elective units at Level 4*.

Learners taking this qualification cannot choose the combination of electives that lead to a specialise qualifications in Networking, Web design or E Commerce. Therefore, the following combinations are not allowed – H/617/6696 and K/617/6697, M/617/6698 and T/617/6699, D/617/6700 and H/617/6701as the 2 electives.

Entry Requirements

Approved Centres are responsible for assessing applicants’ suitability to successfully complete the learning programme and meet the qualification requirements. During the initial evaluation, the centre must consider the support available or that can be arranged to accommodate individual learner needs, where appropriate.

This qualification has been designed to be accessible, with no unnecessary barriers to entry. However, applicants must be at least 18 years old.

For applicants whose first language is not English, an IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) is required. Where applicable, international qualifications will be verified to ensure they meet the entry requirements for UK higher education postgraduate programmes. Applicants are typically expected to provide two supporting references, at least one of which should preferably be academic.
